It’s hard to believe but one out of every 100 people in our county is homeless. Many are single mothers living out of their car. One in five children goes to bed hungry every night. A group of Flagler students are working on a project called Containers for a Cause. Our goal is to recycle shipping containers and turn them into homes for the less fortunate. To make our dream a reality will take money. We are in the running for a $250,000 Pepsi grant. This grant will provide startup money for a pilot housing program that will showcase the potentials of container-conversion. Containers for a Cause will provide a new life for containers, save our forests, eliminate waste, and provide new opportunities for those less fortunate.
